Miller Named Head Football Coach

Posted by: Kale Beers

- La Salle University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Thomas Brennan has announced that Tim Miller has been appointed Head Football Coach.

The announcement comes after a thorough search was conducted and promotes Miller from his role as Linebackers Coach which he served under former head coach Phil Longo.

"We feel very fortunate to have had a candidate like Coach Miller available to take over the program on such brief notice," said Brennan.

"Coach Miller is a quality coach and person and was able to instill a sense of pride and respectability to the linebacking corps which really carried over to the rest of the defense and even the team.  His energy and passion are contagious" added Brennan.

Miller assumes his first assignment as a collegiate head coach after spending the better part of the last two decades coaching the high school level in the Philadelphia region with stops at  North Penn High, Wissahickon High and Germantown Academy.

He is a 1988 graduate of Temple University (B.S. Health and Physical Education) where he played linebacker for head coach Bruce Arians.

Miller replaces Phil Longo who resigned to take the Offensive Coordinator position at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  A week later Offensive Line Coach and top assistant Peter Lue joined Longo on the staff at UMD.
