A two-run homer in the fifth inning snapped a scoreless tie and helped Yale to a 3-0 lead. The Explorers got within a run on a two-run single by Megan Berry (Rutherford, NJ/Paramus Catholic), but could not tie the game.
Valparaiso jumped out to a 6-0 lead, which was too much for La Salle to overcome, as the Explorers fell, 7-4.
La Salle will wrap up play at the Rebel Spring Games tomorrow when they take on Fairleigh Dickinson at 4:15 p.m. and Saint Peter's at 6:00 p.m.
