Dominick, McKeon and Sullivan Prove a Triple Threat

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The La Salle Explorer volleyball continued to roll through the competition at the 2006 La Salle Invitational tournament at Tom Gola Arena on Saturday afternoon.  The Explorers latest opponent to fall were the Lady Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore. After falling in the first game 30-27, the Explorers rallied and took the next three games by scores of 30-13, 30-26, 30-25.  La Salle now stands at 4-2, while the Lady Hawks fell to 3-4.

Sophomore Christa Dominick, again the team leader, landed 17 kills on 33 attempts and hit a .455 for the match.  Erin Sullivan and Amy McKeon also made a strong showing racking up 10 kills each in the four games.  Setter Caitlin Conner assisted on 52 of La Salle's 66 kills while hitting .538 for the match.  Conner tallied seven kills on 13 attempts with no errors. 

On defense, the Explorers were strong in digs, with team leader Carolyn Judge getting the job done again with a match high 37 digs.  Tammi Jones posted 15 digs, while Stephanie Owen contributed 12 and Conner added 11. 

The Lady Hawks got 15 kills each from Caylin Woodward and Melanie Durimel.  Setter Yael Rozner earned 36 digs for the match after being pulled in game two and bein replaced by Kate Smith. 

On defense, the Lady Hawks got 18 digs from libero Stephanie Braxton and another 17 from Rozner.

The Explorers will look to close out the La Salle Invitational at 7:00 p.m., when they host the Bucknell Bison at Tom Gola Arena.
