PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Golf team had a rough round this week at the Towson Invitational on Monday, but pulled it together for the second day and finished with a strong score just 8 over par.
On the first day, La Salle would not tee off until 2 o'clock, causing the last of their players to play through the course as the daylight faded. The combination of rushing through the course and lack of adequate sunlight took its toll, but the Explorers were not finished yet.
On Tuesday the Explorers got it together as a team and bounced back with an impressive score of 296. That score would take them well over conference competitors Temple and St. Joe's University.
Standing out on the team was Explorer Steve Seiracki(Cherry Hill, NJ/Bishop Eustace) who hit 80 in the first round and then 71 in the second to come out +7 in the tournament.
The Golf team looks to carry over their success of the Bucknell tournament along with this week's rounds into the next competition on the 25th of September, as the team heads to Delaware for the George Washington Rehoboth Beach Invitational at the King's Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
