PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Philadelphia 76'ers have confirmed that Explorer great and two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the year Steven Smith is on the Philadelphia 76'ers pre-season roster; will go to Europe with team when they leave for a pre-season tour on September 29th.

Smith, the University's seventh all-time leading scorer, finished his illustrious career with 1,931 points.

Although he earned his bachelor's degree in management in May of 2005 and was projected as a likely NBA draft pick, Smith opted to return to La Salle for his fourth and final season.  The Explorers finished third-place in the Atlantic 10 - the highest in their 11-year affiliation with the conference.

If Smith makes the Sixers' final roster he will be sixth Explorer to play in the NBA in the last 11years including current member of the New Orleans Hornets, Rasual Butler.
