Owen Drops 13 Kills on Fordham in 3-1 Loss

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The La Salle women's volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to claim game three and force game four.  In the end, the Rams took the match 3-1 by scores of 30-22, 30-22, 28-30, and 30-23.  The Rams improved to 14-7 (1-1), while the Explorers fall to 7-14 (0-3).

La Salle junior Stephanie Owen led the team in kills with 13 and finished the match with a double-double with 10 digs.  Erin Sullivan continues her strong all-around game, with nine kills, six assists and two service aces to go along with four digs and one assisted block on defense.  Caitlin Conner added 36 assists to her season total.

Libero Carolyn Judge finished the match with 29 digs, marking the 13th time this season tha she finished a match with 20 or more digs.  Conner also chipped in 15 digs.

Middles Christa Dominick and Amy McKeon each assisted on three blocks in the four game series.

Fordham was led by Tasha Johnston who posted a match-high 14 digs.  Jamee Stimson and Marija Markovic landed 11 and 10 kills respectively.  Setter Kealia Ieremia assisted on 45 of Fordham's 61 kills.

On defense, libero Stephanie Frost tallied a team-high 21 digs and Johnston finished with 19.  Emilie Stewart finished with a pair of solo block and a pair of assisted blocks.

The Explorers will return to action on Tuesday in a non-conference math with the Penn Quakers at the Palestra.  Game time is 7:00 p.m.
