Connors-McBride, Chin And Black Earn Gold In Loss At Duquesne

PITTSBURGH, PA - In their final regular season road meet of the season, the La Salle men's swimming and diving team posted a 113.50 - 91.50 loss at the Duquesne Dukes. The men now stand at 3-3 in head-to-head competition.

Senior Sean Connors-McBride led the way for La Salle with two first place finishes and a second place finish. Connors-McBride first victory came in the 1000-yard freestyle event with a time of 10:03.34. He earned another victory in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:46.60. In he 200-yard butterfly, Connors-McBride earned his second place finish with a time of 1:54.64 followed in third place by Reed Inglee who posted a time of 2:01.93.

Grant Chin added a first place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:11.05, followed by teammate John Nemeth in second place with a time of 2:11.90. Chin crossed the finish line in second place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:58.07 followed by Mike Elleson in third place with a time of 1:58.46.

Freshman Owen Black tied for the gold in the 100-yard freestyle with Duquesn'e Ed Wicker, both finishing in a time of 48.23. Jon Welsh captured hird place with a time of 49.17.

The Explorers will close out the regular season next Saturday, February 3rd, when they host the Lehigh Mountainhawks at 12:00 p.m.
