PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University Women's Basketball program, in conjunction with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, the Atlantic 10 Conference, and Coaches vs. Cancer, showed support for all coaches in the profession who are battling cancer by wearing pink at last weekend's games.

In addition to promoting breast cancer awareness, Women's Basketball collected donations at the door and also pledged that each $2 admission charge would be donated directly to cancer research.

The amount of money raised over the weekend reached more than $900 and the total sum that will be donated to Coaches vs. Cancer will be an even $1,000.

"We are just so happy to be able to make this type of contribution to such a serious health problem that is facing people today," said Head Coach Tom Lochner. "I just want to thank everyone for their assistance with this effort and making it such a success.

"I am very pleased with the attendance and the generosity of ours and our opponent?s fans, and I look forward to helping promote this cause in the future."
