PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Explorer soccer team may have hit a turning point in the season thanks to the play of senior midfielder/defender Joe Heavey (Coatesville, PA) this weekend, as the blue and gold notched their first win in nearly a month as well as their first A-10 win of the season with a 2-1 overtime victory over Xavier. Heavey was named to the Philadelphia Soccer 7 Honor Roll for his one goal, one assist performance over the weekend.

Heavey knocked home the game-winner in a 2-1 win over the Xavier Musketeers on Sunday afternoon, and had an assist in the Explorers lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Dayton Friday night. The senior currently has two goals and three assists on the season, good enough for a three-way tie for most points on the team. He has started in all 12 games for La Salle this season.

The Explorers continue their A-10 home stand on Friday, October 26th as they host Duquesne at 7:30 PM, and then Sunday, October 28th vs. Saint Bonaventure at 2:30 PM.
