Philadelphia, PA- The La Salle University cross country teams will turn their attention to Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia on Saturday, October 27th to compete in the Atlantic 10 Cross Country championships. The men continue to hold the top spot on the A-10 ranking this week, while the women are not far behind in the #3 position.
The Explorer men won the team title in 2006, and besides a second-place finish in '05 have not lost since 2001. Junior Korey Edwards (Morris Plains, NJ) leads a strong pack of experienced La Salle runners including senior Ed Baynes (Verona, NJ).
The women have won the team title for the past three years straight, and senior Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA) has won the individual title in each of these years to lead the Explorers. The senior contingent of Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ) and Christa Plummer (Quakertown, PA) will also be a factor in La Salle's performance.
The men's five mile race begins at 10 AM, and the women's 5K starts at 10:45 AM at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, PA.
