The La Salle University Explorers dropped to 2-6-1 on Saturday, as the Temple Owls earned a 2-0 shutout.
The Explorers got just two shots off in the first half, but the Owls could do no better as both teams remained scoreless at the break. In the second Temple's Mike Minai lofted a free kick at 54:35 into the top right corner of the net past Explorer junior goalie Andrew Bernhard (Lancaster, PA) to go up 1-0.
With a chance to get back into the game, La Salle could not find the opportunity- taking just one shot in the entire second half. Temple's Derek Ludlow put the game away with just five minute remaining in regulation as he knocked a cross from the right wing into the back of the net to put the Owls on top 2-0.
Bernhard had two saves for the Explorers, while Temple goalie Tony Pratico had one save.
The Explorers head to Fordham on Friday, October 12th for a 7:30 game under the lights.
