The La Salle women's swimming and diving team fall to 3-2 with a 174-124 loss against St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon in Olean, NY. In the defeat, leading the way for the Explorers were Shannon Duval and Dana Reis, who each won a pair of events, and Katie Gifford, who took the gold in both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
Reis outshined the competition in both the 1000-yard freestyle (10:39.21) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.80). Duval narrowly edged out the Bonnies' Anneli Johnson in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:21.39 to 2:21.45 for Johnson. She also took first in the 200-yard IM (2:09.01), while claiming a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.72).
Gifford scored 225.90 in the 1-meter and 215.63 in the 3-meter. Freshman Jess Carbin earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (58.80).
The Explorers return home next weekend with a dual meet on Saturday, hosting Delaware and Rider at Kirk Pool at 1:00 p.m.
