TERRE HAUTE, IN - Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA) ran to a 115th-place finish in 21:40 out of 253 of the most talented runners in the country in the women's 6K at the NCAA Championships held in Terre Haute, Indiana at Indiana State University on Monday.

In a field in which the slightest slip-up could be costly, the senior runner wrapped up her cross country season after qualifying for NCAA's three years in a row. Papin's road to the NCAA Championships included finishing in 11th-place performance at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet, second-place at the Atlantic 10 Championships, and leading the La Salle women to their fourth consecutive A-10 Team Championship.

"She (Papin) ran a solid race, there is just not much room for error out there," said Head Coach Charles Torpey.

Papin was named to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic `All-Region' Team and the A-10 All-Conference Team for four consecutive years. At the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in the women's 6K, Papin finished (11th) in a time of 20:36 out of 196 runners. She led her Explorers to a seventh-place overall finish in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The senior runner finishes a storied cross country career, falling just short of winning four straight A-10 XC individual titles this year with a second-place finish at the A-10 Championships. She will go down in the Explorer record books as she holds records in both cross country and track.
