Explorer's Indoor Track Schedule Released

Nov. 30, 2007

PHILADELPHIA, PA- After coming off a fourth consecutive women's title and the sixth title in seven years for the men in cross country, Coach Charles Torpey and his Explorer squad will open the indoor track season at the Jack Pyrah Invitational on December 7th at Haverford College.

The season will be highlighted by trips to the Terrier Classic at Boston University, the University of Washington Invitational in Seattle and the Alex Wilson Invitational at the University of Notre Dame.  For the full schedule click here.

The men were picked to finish third in the A-10 after a second-place finish last year with the help of 2006-07 Indoor Track 'Athlete of the Year' Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA).  Quigley won the mile in 4.09.30, the 3000m in 8.27.12, and ran the anchor leg of the 4x800 relay that finished in second for three titles at the event.  Fellow teammate William Rhea (Rockville, MD) owns the school record in the 500m, while the 4xMile relay team of Joe Fedorowicz (Abington, PA), John Butler, Korey Edwards (Morris Plains, NJ) and Quigley set a school record in 2007.

The women's team has been predicted to finish fourth in the A-10 this season.  Senior Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA) won the individual title in the 3000m and mile events.  She currently holds individual records in the 3000m and 5000m indoor races.  At A-10 Championships last season the 4x800 Meter Relay team of Papin, Adriana Boyle (Havertown, PA), Danielle Schopf (Glenolden, PA) and Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ) took the title.
