PHILADELPHIA, PA- Seniors Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ) and Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA) have both been named to the 2007 Philadelphia Inquirer 'Academic All-Star Team' for their performances both in the classroom and on the cross-country course.
Lipovsky had a stellar season, placing 8th at IC4A/ECAC Championships in a time of 18:12 to lead the La Salle women. She also had a 20th-place finish at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in 20:53. The senior was named to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic 'All-Region' Team and the A-10 All-Conference Team. Lipovsky placed 5th at the A-10 XC Championships- helping her team to a A-10 XC Team Championship for the fourth consecutive year.
Papin is no stranger to success, racing to a 115th-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana in 21:40 in the women's 6K this season. She placed 11th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals in 20:36, which qualified her for the NCAA Championships. Papin was named to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic 'All-Region' Team as well as the A-10 XC All-Conference squad. Her 2nd-place finish at the A-10 XC Championship led the Explorers to their fourth consecutive A-10 Team Championship.
