La Salle Keeper One of the Best in National Statistics

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Junior goalkeeper Andrew Bernhard (Lancaster, PA) finished the 2007 men's soccer season at the top of the charts in two NCAA men's soccer statistics.

As the only goalie from the Philadelphia-area and Atlantic 10 in the top 10 in both categories, Bernhard ranked fifth in saves in the country with 76, giving him a 6.91 average per game. The junior saw action in 11 games, giving him the second-lowest number of games competed in compared to the rest of the 30 top goalies in saves. Bernhard also ranked in save percentage, at the number seven position. Bernhard had a .854 save percentage, stopping 76 goals and allowing just 13.

Bernhard's season highlights included being named A-10 'Co-Player of the Week' and Philadelphia Soccer 7 'Player of the Week' at the end of October. He also had a 2-0 shutout win over Richmond on 11/9 and a 1-0 shutout of St. Bonaventure on 10/28.
