New Haven, CT/Collegeville, PA - The La Salle University indoor track and field teams split the squad and competed at both the Yale Giegengack Invitational and Ursinus' Frank Colden Invitational.
At Yale, Billy Rhea (Rockville, MD/Good Council) set a school record in the 500m event to win the event in a time of 1.03.03. The time is also and IC4A qualifier. Rhea set his second school record in as many weeks after setting a new school best in the 400m at the Terrier Invitational.
Teammate John Butler (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff) took third place in the Mile at 4.05.12. The time is also good enough to earn him IC4A qualification. Butler, along with teammate Sean Quigley is, the current Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Week after competition last weekend in Boston.
Ryan Moseley (Nassau, Bahamas/Queens College HS) posted a time of 6.99 in the 60m race for a fifth-place finish and one-one-hundreth of a second off the IC4A pace.
The Mile Relay of Rhea, A-10 Rookie of the Week Andrew Maxwell (Lemoyne, PA/Cedar Cliff), Jared Davis (Englewood, NJ/Don Bosco) and James Tchabo (Herndon, VA/Church Farm School) also ran a solid race at 3.17.92 for fifth place and an IC4A qualifying time.
The women were paced by Danielle Schopf (Glenolden, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) whose 9.45.34 in the 3000m placed her second in the event and earned her a spot in the ECAC Championships.
Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ/Bishop Air) ran the Mile in 4.56.57 for a sixth-place finish and an ECAC berth. She also finished in eighth-place finish in the 800m event at 2.16.28 in which she was sandwiched by teammates Adrianna Boyle (Havetown, PA/Haverford) - 7th/2.15.41) and Jennifer Surabian (Saugus, MA/Bishop Fenwick) - 9th/2.17.20
AT URSINUS:
Stephen Knox (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland) won the 3000 with a time of 9.02.37.
