Explorers Compete All Around the Nation

The Armory Results | Husky Classic Results

Seattle, WA - Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA/Archbishop Williams) and Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA/St. Huberts) competed at the University of Washington Husky Classic where Quigley ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 5000 meters and finished eighth with a school record time of 13:50.14. He ran the first mile at 4:22 and clocked 8:44 after two miles.

Papin finished in fifth place in 5000 also with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 16:21.52 and also setting a school record. Her splits were 5:13 and 10:27.

New York City , NY - The indoor track team returned to the Armory/New Balance Track and Field Complex in New York City to participate in the Lafayette/Rider Invitational.

Three Explorers won events including Orestas Medina (Palisades Park, NJ/Palisades Park) who won the long jump at 6.99m.

Kimberly McIntosh (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) won 60 meter hurdles in 9.19 and Kelly Fierras Drexel Hill, PA/Archbishop Prendergast) won her heat of the 800 and finished sixth in the finals with a time of 2.21.09.

Meanwhile, at the USA Cross Country Championships in Boulder, Colorado, freshmen Trevon Rainford (Philadelphia, PA/Engineering and Science) and Matt Mitchell (Barrington, NJ/Haddon Heights) ran against some of the nation's best juniors (19 years and under). Rainford finished 22nd while Mitchell took 40th.

Explorer vaulters and throwers competed at where Lissette Delgado (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) took fifth in women's pole vault with a 3.05m. Click here for complete results.
