The La Salle field hockey team has earned a spot in the top five in the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) 2006 Division I National Academic Team Award.  The Explorers, as a team, boast an overall GPA of 3.44 to rank fourth among Division I teams.

The NFHCA also released a list of individual athletes that were named to the 2006 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.  La Salle place 13 players on that list which include: Maria Allegretto, Ellen Axelsen, Amy Comstock, Caitlin Conk, Laura Farley, Haley Froshour, Allison Geiger, Erica Goldman, Colleen Lechner, Whitney Madron, Jessica Menge Christy Miller and Jillian Moser.
