Final Stats
PHILADELPHIA, PA - The La Salle Explorers hosted the Temple Owls in an Atlantic 10 softball contest at Good Shepard field on Friday afternoon. Th Explorers dropped the game 10-2 and low stand at 8-11 overall and 2-3 in A-10 action. For Temple, the win pushes them to a 5-11 record and 1-0 in the A-10.
Temple started in the scoring in the second inning, as Katie Burdeaux belted a solo homerun to get the scoring started. La Salle responded in the bottom of the inning, posting what would later turn out to be the team's only two runs, as Angelina Bisbiglia and Michelle Sullivan each scored for the Explorers.
In the next inning, the Owls put the game away, rounding out four runs for the inning to take a 5-2 lead that they would never relinquish. In the top of the fourth, Temple added three additional run as Natalie Wagner led off with another Owl homerun, Amanda Carver and Anne Rico each scored a run.
LaSalle starting pitcher Laura Dezolt lasted just 3.2 innings before giving eight earned runs on 11 Temple hits.
The Explorers will continue in action against the Owls on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at Good Shepard field.
