Final Stats
PHILADELPHIA, PA - In their second meeting in as many days, the La Salle Explorers and Temple Owls took to Good Shepard field for an Atlantic 10 conference match-up. The result was the same as the day before, with La Salle posting a 7-3 loss to fall to 8-12 overall and 2-4 in the conference. Temple improves to 6-11 and 2-0.
Temple's Carver belted a homerun in the top of the third and was credited with an RBI as Burks scored after doubling to right center to put the Owls on the board 2-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, Michelle Sullivan singled to score Vinnie Caputo who got on base by a Temple error in centerfield which closed the scoring deficit to 2-1.
The Owls got back on track in the top of the sixth when Burdeaux homered to extend Temple's lead back to two at 3-1. La Salle responded in the bottom of the sixth, as Angelina Bisbiglia singled up the middle to score DeZolt and Mary Pat Conville, knotting the score at 3-3.
The game opened up for the Owls in the top of the seventh, when Rico doubled down the right field line scoring Burks. Rohn recorded a homerun scoring Carver and Rico to put the final score at 7-3.
Laura Beth McCreesh started on the mound for La Salle and completed six plus innings, giving up seven hits and six runs before Lea Corcoran relieved her in the seventh, aloowing one hit and one run.
The Explorers will return to action on Sunday, April 1st, when they host the Saint Joseph's Hawks at Good Shepard field for a double header at 12:00 and 2:00.
