PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Explorers recently took part in the inaugural Scotsman's Cup game against the Temple University Owls this weekend. The game has become part of Joseph Harper's Wheeled Scotsman Foundation, a group that benefits the physically disabled by raising money that is used to convert their homes into more handicapped-friendly conditions.
For a $5 donation at the gate, people were welcomed to the event last Saturday, which included food, music, soccer clinics, and various different games.
Among those games was the culmination of the day's events; the match between the Explorers' and Temple's men's soccer teams. Both teams played hard to gave the crowd a good show, all the while benefiting from the extra workout. It was good off-season practice for the two teams, and the Explorers were able to play all 23 of their players on the Spring roster. Even though La Salle ended up losing 1-0 to the Owls, the event was a success all around and the Explorers were very proud to be a part of this important and extremely beneficial event.
