PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University Women's Soccer team has posted four wins so far during its spring season, as the Explorers have shut out two opponents and have outscored them 14-2.
In games April 12, which were just 60 minutes in length, La Salle defeated Saint Joseph's, 5-1, and shutout Drexel, 5-0. Amy Grant registered the victory in the Drexel game, while Kristin Hextall tallied three goals in the two wins.
Also scoring that day was Dana Giordano (2), Ally Kenney (2), Lauren Barker (1), Sara Copare (1), and Melanie Gamble (1).
Two days later, the Explorers beat Lehigh, 1-0, and Temple, 3-1. It was Grant again getting the shutout victory, while Hextall led La Salle with another three-goal day, while Giordano added one.
"I think the girls played with an incredible amount of energy and intensity," said Head Coach Paul Royal. "It really shows that our very demanding spring curriculum has paid immediate dividends.
"Our team's overall attitude and commitment has been like no other off-season I've ever been a part of. Hopefully, we can continue to perform at this high level for our last few events."
La Salle has two more dates left in the spring, April 18 and April 22.
