VENTNOR, NJ - The La Salle University Men's and Women's Crews raced in the Shore Boys Regatta on the Ventnor Bay, Saturday. The head race was 5,000 meters from north to south with frigid air and a slight head wind. La Salle rowed against crews from Lehigh, Drexel and St. Joseph's Universities.

The Explorers entered five boats - a Women's Four, Men and Women's Varsity Eights and Men and Women's JV Eights.

In the first race, the Women's Four, the Explorers finished in a time of 21:05 behind first-place Drexel (20:54).

For all the Eights, the boats were only categorized by men and women, but not by Varsity or JV.

So in the Men's race, La Salle's Varsity Men finished third out of seven boats, stopping the clock in 15:32, while the La Salle's JV Men placed seventh in a time of 16:27. Lehigh's Varsity Men won the race in 14:33.

La Salle's Varsity Women crossed the finish line with a time of 17:23, which placed them fifth out of seven boats, and the JV Women were seventh, crossing the line in 19:05. St. Joseph's Varsity Women won the race in a time of 16:04.

La Salle Crew looks forward to its last race of the fall, which is next Saturday on the Schuylkill River in the Frostbite Regatta.
