PHILADELPHIA - No stranger to success, the La Salle University Women's Track and Field team has been recognized as a 2007 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Women's All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Track Team. The Explorers were the only Atlantic-10 team to earn this distinction, as well as just one of two Philadelphia-area universities named. The 2006 Women's Cross-Country team also earned this honor in the fall.
The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Teams award is based on a combination of athletic and academic achievements. The Explorers earned a cumulative 3.190 GPA and finished 5th in the A-10 Track and Field Championships. There were 97 Division I Women's programs that were recognized as All-Academic teams this year. To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 GPA.
