PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University senior striker Jeremy Ortiz (Mt. Laurel, NJ/ Lenape) has been named to the Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Preseason Team for the second year in a row.

Ortiz most recently was named to the 2006 Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team for his performance last season (6 goals, 4 assists, 16 points). He was named by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) to the All-Mid Atlantic Region first team, and also made the cut for the All-Conference second team in 2005, as well as the Soccer Seven All-Star team. The senior has earned player of the week awards on more than one occasion and was selected to the Drexel Invitational and Lafayette Puma Soccer Classic all-tournament teams.

He scored six goals and dished out four assists in 2006, earning a team-high 16 points on the year. He also led the team in shots with 41 and had two game-winning goals.
