PHILADELPHIA - The honors continue to roll in for the La Salle University Track and Field team as four student-athletes were named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) 2007 Men's and Women's Division I All-Academic Team. On the men's side Ryan Moseley (Nassau, Bahamas/ Queens College HS) and John Butler (Mechanicsburg, PA/ Cedar Cliff) were two of 233 student-athletes from 88 colleges and universities which comprised the Division I Men's All-Academic Team. Moseley, who was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, graduated in May with a Master's degree in computer science. Butler completed a Master's degree in secondary education in May. Women's team members Danielle Schopf (Glenolden, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) and Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ/ Bishop Ahr) were two of 415 student-athletes representing 117 Division I colleges and universities that made up the Women's All-Academic team. Schopf graduated in May with a major in nutrition. Lipovsky completed her junior year and is working towards a degree in chemistry. The USTFCCCA honors Division I individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track season. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, one must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and obtain an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for the most recent indoor championships or an outdoor regional qualifying mark in their respective event.
