The La Salle University football team has announced two days of events leading up to the home-opener vs. Ursinus at 7:30 PM at McCarthy Stadium on Thursday, August 30th.

The GoExplorers.com football pre-game show will kick things off on Wednesday, August 29th from noon-1 PM in the Tree Tops Café, on La Salle's campus. All students are welcome to the interactive show, and entry forms for a chance to win $1,000 in prizes will be available. The raffle winners will be selected at the game Thursday night.

Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 PM the "Alumni and Friends of La Salle Football Social" will be held at Thumper's East Falls Grill for the 21 and over crowd.

On Thursday, August 30th, students and supporters are encouraged to wear gold to show their La Salle pride. A barbeque will be held at the tennis courts on La Salle's campus from 5:00-7:00 PM. Other events include sumo wrestling, jousting, face-painting, a balloon artist and stilt walker. The dance team and cheerleaders will be performing at the event, and students and alumni will be gathering on the tennis courts pre-game.

Activities will move to the field just before kickoff as free t-shirts will be given away to the first 300 students at the game. Other pre-game events include carnival games at the field and local youth teams competing at half-time.

Kick-off vs. Ursinus is 7:30 pm.
