The La Salle Lacrosse team was recognized by the International Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association for achieving success in the classroom. The Explorers were one of 43 Division I schools designated as an Honor Squad for maintaining a team GPA of 3.09 for the 2006-07 academic year.
Additionally, juniors Jessica Hanson and Kaylan Billingsley were among 410 student-athletes honored by the IWLCA for their individual academic achievements.
Hanson, a starter in 12 games last season, picked up nine ground balls on the year. A native of Cortland Manor, NY, Hanson is majoring in Elementary and Special Education with a minor in American Studies. She is a member of the Dean's List at La Salle.
Billingsley finished third on the team in groundballs, picking up 18 on the season. The Bowie, MD native was a starter on defense in all 15 games. A member of the Dean's List and recipient of the Athletic Achievement Award, Billingsley is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Marketing.
