Camden, NJ - On August 28th the Special Needs Karate Group of Marlton, NJ held an event at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and on hand among the friends, participants and family members were members of the La Salle University men's basketball team.
The players were there to lend their support to the special needs participants and even got involved in some of the action - letting the participants demonstrate their skills- and served refreshments.
"They are a class act and it is obvious it starts with Coach [Dr. John] Giannini. The influence he has on the players is remarkable, his leadership comes through distinctly and clearly and it is obvious he' building more than basketball players, the character he is instilling in them along with being community conscience is extraordinary. What a great group of emissaries for your university led by the right man," said Instructor Frank Balzano.
The event was sponsored by Cathedral rector Monsignor Michael Mannion.
