, NY- The La Salle Track team wrapped competition at the Fordham
Kick-Off Invitational over the weekend as the men's squad sprinted to a second-place finish, and the women placed 8th overall.
The men were bested only Manhattan College, and tied for second with Maryland-Eastern Shore. Top Explorer finishes included Steve Rendall (Deptford, NJ) winning the 60 meter hurdle event in a time of 8.30, as well as Joseph Dare (Souderton, PA) taking the 3000 meter crown. Rendall's time qualified him for the IC4A's, to be held the weekend of March 7th, 2008 at Boston University.
On the women's side, the Explorers finished 8th overall out of 14 teams. Strong performances were turned in by Kim McIntosh (Neptune, NJ) who placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.42), as well as finishing fifth in the long jump (4.86m). Meaghan Hobson (Malvern, PA) also had a good day with a fourth-place finish in the 800 meter run (2.16.00).
The Explorers will return to the Armory Track on Friday, January 18th to compete in the Gotham Invitational, hosted by New York University.
