Quigley, Rainford Earn Atlantic 10 Track Awards

New York, NY- Senior distance runner Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA) ran the second-fastest mile in La Salle University history in 4:02.80 at the Gotham Cup this past weekend, earning himself an A-10 `Performer of the Week' award.  Quigley's time qualified him for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, and is currently the fastest time in the conference. 

 

Quigley's mile is second only to former Explorer All-American Brian Gallagher, who ran a school-record 3:59.91 mile in 1998. 

 

Trevon Rainford (Philadelphia, PA) earned his first `Rookie of the Week' award after placing eighth in the mile in 4:16.39 for La Salle at the Gotham Cup.  Rainford's time currently stands as the fourth-fastest mile in the A-10.       

 

The Explorers will head to Boston University for the Terrier Classic on Friday, January 25th-26th.  Other members of the La Salle squad will head to Lehigh University for the John Covert Classic on January 25th-26th.
