Boston, MA- The La Salle University Women's Track team made a statement at the Boston University Terrier Invitational led by Meaghan Hobson (Malvern, PA) who broke La Salle's previous 500m school record in a time of 1:14.32 en route to a 2nd-place finish. The 500m record was previously held by Anita Brooks, who ran the event in 1:15.38 back in 2002. Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ) placed eighth in the One Mile in4:59.20 and the Explorers had a strong showing by Courtney McKnight (Norristown, PA) as she placed sixth in the 500m Dash in 1:16.89. Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA) ran the 3000m in 9:54.16- good enough for 16th place against some of the top competition in New England.
The squad also had strong performances from Christa Plummer (Quakertown, PA)-who finished on the heels of Papin in 17th-place in a time of 9:55.48 in the 3000m run, while Ruth Brown (Hershey, PA) darted to the 12 spot in both the 55m Dash (7.36) and the 200m Dash (25.79). Adriana Boyle (Havertown,PA) finished 11th in the 800m in 2:16.16.
