PHILADELPHIA, PA - Senior runner Sean Quigley (Braintree, MA), along with freshman Trevon Rainford (Philadelphia, PA) have earned consecutive Atlantic 10 `Performer' and `Rookie' of the Week accolades after stellar performances last weekend at Boston University's Terrier Invitational.
Quigley broke La Salle's 3K school record en route to a 7:52.47 time to win the event and earn the A-10 `Performer of the Week' title for the second week in a row. The four-time All-American speedster automatically qualified for the 3k at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with his time, and has already qualified for the mile race.
Freshman Rainford earned the A-10 `Rookie of the Week' award after qualifying for the IC4A's with a 4:10.16 time in the mile event, the second fastest time in the A-10 this season. The rookie runner made significant progress in just one week as he smashed his previous mile time from the Gotham Cup of 4:16.39 by over six seconds.
