PHILADELPHIA - Tom Kalpokas, a forward on the men's soccer team, was named Rookie of the Week by the Atlantic 10 Conference on Monday afternoon. Kalpokas earns the honor after a stellar three-goal performance this weekend against No. 9 Saint Louis and No. 20 Charlotte.

Kalpokas, a Philadelphia native and North Catholic graduate, scored both of La Salle's goals against the ninth-ranked Billikens on Friday. Those two goals marked the first two scores of his career. Both goals put the Explorers on top before falling in the final minutes of the game.

Kalpokas also netted the tying goal against the 49ers on Sunday afternoon, and the Explorers went on to upset the 20th-ranked team in the nation.

With his three goals on the weekend, Kalpokas vaulted to the top of the Explorer scoring ranks. He now leads the team with seven points (3 goals, 1 assist), and leads in goals (3) and shots on goal (11).
