Staten Island, NY – With their second match in two days and their third match in four, the La Salle men’s tennis team traveled to Wagner on Sunday and earned their sixth win of the season as they went on to defeat the Seahawks, 7-0.
Junior Jon Maula recorded his eighth singles victory of the fall season, defeating John LeBlanc in number one singles, 7-5, 6-0. Alongside Maula, freshman Fernando Tovia achieved his eighth singles victory as well, with a win over Robert Santana in number six singles, 6-1, 6-0.
“This was a real impressive victory,” said head coach Ed Colfer. “We looked solid in every area of this match today.”
The Explorers (6-2) travel to Philadelphia University tomorrow for their final match of the fall season.
