Lehigh Tops La Salle, 3-0

Bethlehem, PA - The La Salle volleyball team kicked off their six-game road trip in Bethlehem, PA as they faced Lehigh University on Tuesday, however, the Explorers could not pick up a victory over the Mountain Hawks as they went on to lose, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-22).

The Explorers looked to strike early as they went on to score four straight points towards the end of the first set, evening the score at 21. Lehigh eventually went on to secure the first set and then won the second set with a score of 25-15. La Salle was ahead by as many as six points midway through the third set, but the Mountain Hawks caught up and eventually sealed the set and the match.

Senior Jackie Kushman led all Explorers with seven kills on the evening while also recording six digs and a service ace. Junior Danielle DiMarco led her team with 10 digs and sophomore Carly Conlon and freshman Kourtney Clark combined for 25 of their team's 27 assists.

For the Mountain Hawks, junior Mo McReynolds and freshman Angelika Kopacz totaled 21 kills together and freshman Jessica Kudirka led everyone in the match with 18 assists. Freshman Chelsea Sheridan achieved a match-high five block assists.

Up next for the Explorers (5-20, 1-8) is Broad Street rival Temple University at McGonigle Hall on Thursday, October 30.
