PHILADELPHIA - La Salle Women's Basketball opened up its 2008-09 campaign with practice over the weekend, then took part in the Philadelphia Big 5 Clinic at Villanova on Sunday. These are just a few of the Explorers events that are on their plate before their first game - November 14 at Villanova starting at 4 PM.

The Big 5 Clinic featured all of the Division I women's basketball teams - and head coaches - from the six Philadelphia area schools and they instructed girls from 1st to 8th grade. The Photo Gallery above shows images of the team during their portion of the event.

La Salle will also be hosting a clinic at Tom Gola Arena this Saturday at 1 PM as part of Homecoming weekend and will take part in Hoops Madness on Thursday, November 6 at 8 PM.

The Explorers will also be holding its annual Free-Throw-a-thon on Sunday, November 2 as part of their tip-off practice and reception. The day begins at 11 AM with an ability to view a portion of practice followed by the Free Throw Shooting at 11:30 AM and the reception follows.
