PHILADELPHIA, PA- La Salle Explorers have been taking time out of their time their busy schedules to give back to our adopted school, James Logan Elementary. Recently, our Women's Varsity Basketball taught the students there some very important basketball drills and technique exercises. The student-athletes had a chance to interact with the kids and show them what it takes to be a Division 1 basketball player.
The instructional clinic consisted of four main stations: ball handling techniques, defensive maneuvers, shooting and passing drills. Once every student ran through each station the class was split up into groups to compete in relay races that involved the skills they acquired earlier. The gym class was rewarded by receiving a La Salle Women's Basketball poster for a job well done.
Logan Elementary will be just one of the schools attending this years "Elementary School Day" themed basketball game on January 14th. La Salle has invited local elementary schools from the area to help support them as they go up against The Richmond Spiders at home.
