Washington, DC - The La Salle University Explorers managed just two shots but goalkeeper Emma Ruth turned away eight attempts in a 3-0 loss at 20th-ranked American University on Sunday afternoon.
The Explorers defended 14 penalty corners while taking just two and did not give up the decisive score until 20 minutes and 45 seconds into the first half when Irene Schickhardt notched her sixth goal of the season for the Eagles.
The Explorers will open Atlantic 10 Conference play when they take on Saint Joseph’s on Friday afternoon, October 10th at 2:00 PM in a game played at Drexel University.
