PHILADELPHIA, PA- La Salle University's Athletic Department has been leading a community outreach program called Project Teamwork for the past ten years, mainly putting their time into their adopted school, Logan Elementary. Throughout the years different sports teams host instructional clinics during Logan's gym classes. Recently, members from the Track and Cross Country team wanted to teach student at Logan about running.
Kelly Mullane, a junior member of the track team, said "I think running is one of the easiest sports to teach children. It's something they do everyday and with enough practice they can become really good."
The clinic consisted of 2 technical stations: starts and baton-passing. After the intructional segment, the entire class was divided into teams and held relay races that allowed them to display their newly acquired skills.
