Philadelphia, PA – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced on Thursday that senior Christa Dominick was named to the 2008 Academic All-Conference Team.
Dominick, who was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team two weeks ago, earns her second academic honor of the season and her second Academic All-Conference selection in two years.
In early September, Dominick was named to the George Mason All-Tournament Team and then followed up that honor with a Villanova Classic All-Tournament Team selection a few weeks later.
On the season, Dominick finished first on the team in total blocks with 69 and second on the team in kills with 216. As a senior, she surpassed Melissa Hodge and is now La Salle’s all-time leader in assisted blocks with 280. She also holds the single-season record for assisted blocks when she achieved 91 as a freshman in 2005.
In addition to her 2007 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Academic All-Conference selection, Dominick was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in 2005.
