Box Score

OXFORD, OH - Antonia Gale tied her career high with 12 points and Morgan Robertson again grabbed double figures in rebounds for La Salle Women's Basketball, but it was not enough as the host Miami (OH) RedHawks defeated the Explorers, 63-50, at Millett Hall Tuesday night in non-conference action.

The RedHawks used an 11-0 run that spanned the halves to take 34-23 lead just a minute into the second half and never relinquished the lead.

The Explorers fought back - cutting the deficit to as little as three at 38-35 after Danielle Mickiewicz hit a baseline jumper, but the RedHawks responded with an 8-0 over the next three minutes to push their lead back to 11.

Miami (OH) (2-1) outscored La Salle 40-18 in points in the paint and forced the Explorers into 20 turnovers, which they scored 28 points off of opposed to the Explorers three. La Salle did grab 20 offensive rebounds, which it turned into 18 second-chance points.

The first half saw the scored tied five times and two lead changes. After allowing the first basket, the Explorers used a 10-2 run to take their largest lead of the game at 10-4 seven minutes into the contest.

The RedHawks used their own 10-2 run to take a two-point advantage at 14-12 with nine minutes left before the intermission. However, over the next eight minutes, every time Miami (OH) would build a small advantage, La Salle would reel them back in, the last time at 23-23 on two Tara Lapetina free throws with 1:08 left before the break.

Miami (OH) would score the last five points of the half to take a lead into the locker rooms, then scored six straight points out of the break to take control of the game.

La Salle (3-2) is now off to California to take part in the St. Mary's Hilton-Concord Thanksgiving Classic, which starts on Friday, as the Explorers open up facing the hosts at 10 PM EST.
