PHILADELPHIA - In voting conducted among the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer head coaches, three La Salle Women's Soccer players have been honored by the conference, the A-10 announced Wednesday. Junior Traci DePasquale and freshmen Jess Hopton and Dana O'Brien have been selected to postseason teams.

DePasquale follows up her very successful 2007 campaign in which the midfielder was named All-Conference Second Team, with another selection to the Second Team after leading the Explorers with 10 assists and adding five goals for a team-high tying 20 points.

The 10 assists she registered in 2008 are tied for the second most ever dished out during a single season at the school and gives her 18 for her career, which is good for fifth all-time at La Salle. Her 20 career goals and 58 career points are currently sixth all-time and with two more helpers, she can become just the second Explorer to have at least 20 goals and 20 assists in the Blue and Gold - Amy Schneider, 40 goals, 33 assists.

Hopton, one of La Salle's top defenders, missed just one game all season, while starting in 15, which included the last nine conference games.

O'Brien, a forward, scored nine goals during 2008, which is tied for the 10th most in a single season at the school, and also added two assists for a team-high tying 20 points. She also netted a team-high four game-winners during the year.

With the Explorer freshmen pair getting named to the All-Rookie Team, it marks just the third time La Salle has seen two first-year players make the team. In 2001, Shannon Plunkett and Rachel Tobin both made the team, and in 2004, Kristin Hextall and Jenna Guagenti, earned the honor.

The last two also each went on to earn a First and Second Team All-Conference selection in their time at 20th and Olney, as well as earning a pair of Regional All-American honors.

La Salle, as a team, fell just shy of advancing to its third A-10 postseason in five years, finishing in a tie for sixth place, but losing the tie-breaker to Duquesne. However, the Explorers will return their eight top point scorers from this season, as well as their starting goalie.
