New Haven, CT- The La Salle University Explorers completed the first day of Yale University's Giegengack Invitational with a handful of impressive results, led by the women's team distance medley finish of second place as well as Ed Bayne's second place finish in the 5000m event.
The distance medley relay team of seniors Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA), Carolyn Lipovsky (Edison, NJ), Adriana Boyle (Havertown, PA), and junior Meaghan Hobson (Malvern, PA) finished second overall in a time of 11:45.92. The time was the second-best in La Salle running history.
Ed Baynes (Pine Beach, NJ) paced the men's squad with a second-place finish in the men's 5000m race in a time of 14:57.58, followed closely by sophomore Andrew Wagoner (Pittsburgh, PA) who finished the 5k in 15:16.78.
Events for the Giegengack Invitational will resume at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning with the women's and men's shot put events first. For a complete schedule of events, click here.
