BUFFALO, NY - The La Salle men's and women's swimming and diving teams had a strong showing on day one at the Atlantic 10 Championships at the Flickinger Aquatic Center in Buffalo, NY.

 

In the women's 200-yard medley relay, the Explorers' quartet of Jess Carbin, Shannon Duval, Carrie Houck and Carleen Caldwell set a school record, clocking in at 1:48.01.

 

On the men's side, the 800-yard freestyle relay team of John Welsh, Brandon Hargraves, Grant Chin and Owen Black took fifth. Welsh led off the event by finishing under 1:40.00 (1:39.96), as the Explorers led after the first leg.

 

The women currently stand in sixth place, while the men are in seventh.
