PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle sophomore Kara Harpel (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) has been named to the 2007 All-Philadelphia Field Hockey Team, it was announced Thursday. This marks Harpel's first selection to the team, which is comprised of 16 players from six Division I schools in Philadelphia.

 

Harpel led the Explorers with 10 goals and 22 points this past fall.  She ranked among the Atlantic 10's best in both categories, finishing tied for second in goals and fourth in points. She helped lead the Explorers to their highest win total since 2003 by scoring goals in seven of their eight victories.

 

Temple's Alli Lokey was named the All-Philadelphia MVP.

 

Head coaches of the six schools - La Salle, Drexel, Temple, Villanova, Penn and Saint Joseph's - nominated their top four players and voted for the top 16 players from other city teams, ranking the top three players for the MVP award.
