Results
New York, NY- The La Salle University Men's and Women's Track teams got a head start on the competition on the first day of the New Balance Collegiate Invitational, held at The Armory in New York City. Senior Rachel Papin (Philadelphia, PA) won the 5000m race in 6:39.76, and junior Korey Edwards (Morris Plains, NJ) finished third in the 800m (1:53.59) in the college section.
Senior Christa Plummer (Quakertown, PA) placed 10th in the first event of the day-the 3000m run in 9:56.19. For the Explorer men sophomore Trevon Rainford (Philadelphia, PA) hustled to 13th-place in the 1000m run in 2:28.37.
On the women's side sophomore Courtney McKnight (Norristown, PA) sprinted to 18th in the 500m Dash in 1:17.99, while Nicole O'Dea ran to the 29th spot in the 1000m (3:05.70). Also, freshman Kristina Kubala (East Fallowfie, PA) finished 35th in the 3000m (10:32.24)
For the men junior Jared Davis (Englewood, NJ) grabbed 18th in the 500m dash (1:05.74) and Joe Dare (Souderton, PA) placed 19th in the 3000m (8:29.06)- qualifying for IC4A's.
In the 400m dash senior James Tchabo (Herndon, VA) placed 49th (49.24) and sophomore Andrew Maxwell (Lemoyne, PA) got 60th in the same event (49.48).
Junior Orestes Medina (Palisades Park, NJ) finished 27th in the long jump with a 6.66m performance.
In one of the last events of the day junior Steve Rendall (Deptford, NJ) placed 31st in the 60m hurdles (8.16).
