PHILADELPHIA - La Salle's Emily Bonczek (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, it was announced Monday. Bonczek struck for 14 goals in two games this past week for the Explorers.

Bonczek scored seven goals in a 15-12 loss to Drexel last Thursday. She led a late comeback attempt, scoring three times in the final four minutes of the second half. In Sunday's 15-13 loss to Louisville, she netted four-straight goals in a six-minute span, turning a 7-4 deficit into an 8-7 lead. She led all scorers with seven goals in the game.

The senior currently leads the A-10 in both goals (26) and goals per game (5.2).

This is the first conference award this season for Bonczek, and second of her career. She was named Co-Player of the Week on March 26 of last season.
