PHILADELPHIA - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced today the 2008 A-10 Women's Basketball honors, in a poll conducted by the Conference's coaches, and La Salle's Carlene Hightower was a First Team selection.

The senior finished second in the conference in scoring with 17.0 points per game and was 13th in rebounding with 6.5 per game. She also finished in the top 15 in four other categories, including seventh in steals (1.79 pg).

In A-10 games only, Hightower led the conference with 17.9 points an outing, and was in the top 15 in five other categories, including first in three-point field goal percentage (44.2%).

Hightower also led all conference players with three 30-point games, two in A-10 games, and 12 20-point games. Her six 20-point games in the A-10 was tied for the high, which led to four A-10 Player of the Week honors, tied for the most during the 2007-08 season.

She becomes the first Explorer ever named A-10 First Team twice, while also becoming only the fourth Explorers in the 36-year history to register back-to-back 500-point seasons.

Hightower finished her career at La Salle with her name in the top 10 all-time in 10 career categories and seven single-season categories.
